Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Wu Peng met with Amb. Monica Juma, CS of the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 24th, and exchanged ideas on China-Kenya relations and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation on multilateral affairs.
Amb. Wu said that with joint efforts of China and Kenya, the visit of President Kenyatta to China for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) achieved a full success, playing an important role in deepening China-Kenya comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. He stressed that the Chinese embassy looks forward to close coordination with Kenya to elevate bilateral cooperation through the advancement of B&R cooperation and implementation of the deliverables of President Kenyatta’s visit to China.
On his part, CS Juma reaffirmed the strategic significance of Kenya-China cooperation, saying that Kenya highly values its relations with China, and that her ministry is committed to further strengthening communication and coordination with the Chinese embassy. She hopes that the joint efforts will ensure full implementation of Kenya-China cooperation outcomes, deliver benefits to the two peoples and lay a more solid foundation for deepening bilateral practical cooperation.
