Accompanied by the deputy town clerk Mr. Kidani and other officials of the Mombasa city council, the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Mr. Zhang Ming visited the Mombasa Majaoni Primary School and attended the handover ceremony of school desks donated by China on March 26.

The donated 2000 desks worth about USD 80,000 are locally made and distributed to the school in Mombasa recently. The desks were donate in 2007 by the Chongqing City of China, a sister city of Mombasa.

In his remark, Ambassador Zhang said that children were the future of a nation, and as a close friend of Kenya, China would do whatever it could to help Kenya develop education for its long-term development.

The Mombasa Magaoni Primary School held a warm welcome reception ceremony for Ambassador Zhang to express their heartfelt thanks.
